Hello dearest readers! Here are some news regarding Headless Bliss updates:

Starting next week, I will update this comic once a week, on Tuesdays, instead of twice a week. Now let's get on to the "why??"!

Back when I first began this webcomic, I chose to do two pages a week for several reasons:

  1. to build the story as quickly as possible so readers get a better picture of what's happening
  2. to test a 5-pages-per-week webcomic update (what with my other webcomic, Go Get a Roomie!)
  3. a need to share with you a story I had grown in my mind for years

I was a bit nuts, is basically what I'm saying. Still am! But I've realized admitted only recently that it was A LOT of work to handle on my own. A few loved ones had already expressed the idea of slowing down my comic updates whenever I told them I had a hard time juggling comics with real life sometimes, but my ego was always proudly standing in the way of that idea, saying "NOPE, I can handle this shit NO PROBLEM". And so, for more than two years, I have! Yay!

But while it's a nice challenge and has its perks, it's also in a way, choosing quantity over quality.

I have over 200 Headless Bliss pages now. It's a good chunk of read for new comers, it's more than enough for two, maybe three, physical comic books to Kickstart, and you now have a good idea of the main characters and the weird universe in which they wander in.

I'm finally ready to step back and choose to balance my life out with moments outside of comics, and the internet. I'm finally ready to let go of my pride in updating every weekday, and I'm choosing quality over quantity.

Because, wow, if Headless Bliss ain't a challenge in itself, just making sense of the friggin' impractical setting I gave it, and how to give it life in comic form!

So there you are, my line of thought when making this decision.

I know most of you will understand, and might even not have needed any explanation on my part, as long as they know it's for my own good, and I'm super grateful for this. I'm happy to have shared this personal and professional bit with you.

Cheers,
Chloé C.

PS: Oh and I might cut down the updates to once per week, but nothing stops me from occasionally updating two pages at once ;)
